Richard M. Tattersall,

Senior Vice-President

Richard first started in the investment industry in the summers of 1986 through 1988 in equity research at Merrill Lynch Canada. He worked for ten years in Citibank Canada's corporate finance division as a financial analyst and a global relationship manager. In 1993, he initiated coverage of Canadian money managers with an industry study. He was the architect of several mergers and acquisitions of fund managers, working closely with leading industry players.

Pursuing his ambition to become a portfolio manager, Richard joined MD Management in 1999 to manage portfolios and mutual funds for doctors as well as pension funds. He met Rob and Rupel at a number of investment conferences. He was impressed with the Checkmark Investing™ discipline and Heathbridge's unique method of customizing clients' portfolios. Heathbridge Capital Management Ltd. welcomed him as a Portfolio Manager in early 2001.

Richard grew up in Toronto and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. He earned his CFA accreditation in 1993.

Richard is married to Alessandra and has three sons. He is an active fundraiser and sports coach.

"I think the fundamental risk for investors is that they need to understand what they're investing in, or have a portfolio manager who does. They should be skeptical of being sold products which have beeen put together to pay someone a commission."
